Wayne Rooney Pleads Guilty to Drink-Driving Charge, Banned From Driving for 2 Years

Everton striker Wayne Rooney who recently announced his retirement from National football has apologized for his ‘unforgivable lack of judgement’ after pleading guilty to a drink-driving charge.

Rooney is certainly not above the law as he was caught in the act and accepted the charge of drink driving on a night out.

The former England captain encountered a police round off while driving a black Volkswagen Beetle in Wilmslow, Cheshire, at 2am on September 1.

Rooney, 31, was arraigned on Monday 18th September at Stockport Magistrates’ Court and pleaded guilty to drink-drive offence and has been given a 2-year-ban from driving and ordered to perform 100 hours of unpaid work as part of a 12-month community order.
